Yard Waste

One of the many benefits of living in the Kelowna area, in the sunny central Okanagan valley, is a long growing season. Ample sunlight, hot summers, a moderate climate and readily available water for irrigation conspire to bring out the green thumb in all of us.

While this may create the perfect environment in which to grow fruit, bountiful gardens, beautiful, lush landscapes, it does come at a cost. Anything green grows and often overgrows very quickly.

That means maintenance, lot's of maintenance.

Whether it is mowing your lawn 6-7 months out of the year, pruning shrubs and trees in both spring in fall, or raking bags and bags of leaves in the fall, your yard may be your own version of paradise but it does generate an awful lot of yard waste. Tree branches, hedge trimmings, mountain high piles of leaves in hues from red to yellow are as frequent as sunny days in our daily lives.

If you are a "do it yourselfer" but don't have the time, strength or equipment needed to dispose of your grass clippings, cleared brush, cedar boughs or other organic scraps, let use take care of the dirty work. We have what it takes to gather up all that mess, load it on to our pickup truck and trailer and take it where it needs to go.

The Glenmore Landfill accepts up to 250kg of yard waste per load, free of charge. We pass that saving on to you! These items are ground up and mixed to produce compost that is resold to the public as Glengrow.
